Are we alone in the universe? No.
It may be unseen and intangible, but there is an abiding force pulling
us into the right direction. It becomes an accepted nature of human to be inquisitive. And as part of such nature, people often wonder who they are, what they are and what their place is in the vastness of the universe. As rational beings, we cannot help to think and ask, “are we alone in the universe?” It may be egocentric to think so and think we are the in the midst of it all. We may be no better back then, when the world was dull and as the Earth continues to orbit around the scorching Sun. Then, where do we suitably fit in? Or, where do you say we exist?
We all live in this planet called Earth. You traverse on its surface much like the electrons orbiting around the nucleus. Remember your science class way back in high school? You discussed about the planets, the solar system, and the universe in general. The planet Earth bears one moon that constantly rotates around it, while the center of the solar system, the Sun has countless different things orbiting around it. The solar system is in orbit to an array that likewise orbits in the middle of the fascinating galaxy. And then in return, the galaxy seems to orbit around a mass that bears more galaxies in orbit to it. Where is the universe in all these complexities? The universe is the limitless expansion wherein all the things mentioned are found. Universe speaks for everything, such as energy and matter that exist.
Therefore, we are so much part of the universe. Are we alone in it? If you take such question literally, the answer is “no.” According to scientific studies and basing from lessons passed through in high school and college, we certainly are not alone in this boundless universe. There are millions of other things that co-exist with us. However, we are the only rational beings created with intellect and had been given the honor to make our own decisions and choices. All the other creatures have with them is their instinct.
Meanwhile, if you take the contention in relation to being personal or mystical, still the answer is “no.” Have you been wondering why some things seem to effortlessly happen on their own? Pondering on some external influence working itself in our environment? Do you think the universe has something to do with particular aspects of your existence, like providing you direction and clues on how you should react and perceive things? The occurrences in one’s daily life have their explanations. If you take the time to thoroughly visualize and analyze things, you will most likely come up with realization on why things take place.
You may not be the type of person who grasps on anything and everything that comes your way, such that you do not just believe in pure luck for things to happen for the very simple reason that they are in the right place, at the right time. During such circumstances, chance, luck or fate, seem to be in focus because we cannot fathom at some reasonable explanation.
Well, we are certainly not alone in this universe. We do not just go on with our lives each day with the prosaic understanding that we are the only ones existing in the midst of the boundless universe. And nothing can possibly exist that will create a great impact on our regular routine and promote bizarre cause and effect, at the same time, shapes our future without any rational explanation. This is a prevalent realization that is so widely accepted at present.
