Finding Purpose In Life Involves Taking Chances

The most common problem among many people today is the lack of wisdom and idea on what they want in life. In general, most people do not know what their purpose in life is. They are still battling with it, still in search of finding meaning to their life.

The lack of purpose is experienced at some point in one's life. You see people setting goals, achieving them and on the process gained admiration, respect, and affection. But later on in their life's journey, they stop and ponder for a while. One thing seemed to be missing. Or that something feels out of place. These people feel their life to be passing them in a blur. They know they have accomplished a lot, and yet, they are not totally happy. You ask why? It is because they feel their lack of purpose in their lives.

Do you, at certain point, feel the same? Is there a time wherein you halt in your tracks and think of what you have been missing all this time? Do you have goals? Do you set some for yourself to adhere to? Many people do not have goals. They do not set something for them to attain to simply because they do not know what they want out of life. In fact, it is not uncommon to hear of people doing what their parents asked them to do, or what their partners want, or their bosses want, even if it is against their will. The circumstances are manifested into so many ways, yet the underlying reason is just one, and again, it is the lack and or not knowing the purpose in life. It is highly because of this that a person tends to do something wherein his or her heart is not really into it.

Well then, how does one find his or her purpose in life? Primarily, you have to believe in a mission, that you are bound to fulfill such mission as your purpose. Life's mission overrides goal setting, as it essentially gives more meaning to your life. Successful men and women seem to be driven by commitments bigger than what they actually are. You see of hap
py people because they have found their way to happiness, the way to their purpose.

We are all aware of certain rules and laws to abide in this world. There are universal laws that we must obey for peaceful living and to be in harmony with each one. But for you to be contented and satisfied, you must learn and not be afraid to take risks. Allow yourself to blossom. You can be on your own and let your uniqueness shines through without compromising the serenity of this world. In doing so, by being yourself, you will discover the other side of you. And who knows, it may just be the direct path to finding your purpose in life.

As you take the time to enjoy who you really are, you are giving yourself the chance to explore new horizons, at the same time, discovering deeper your personality. And in order to find your purpose, always be aware that you are free to choose and make decisions. Within particular societal limits, you can do practically whatever you wish to do. You can learn things, change jobs, start your own business, get married, move to other places, say ¡°no to other's demands, anything. But with the freedom to choose comes responsibility. You may be free to follow whatever you think will lead you to your purpose in life, also you must understand that with it, risks are inevitable. Be ready to face hurdles on the way, as well as be prepared to deal with both favorable and unfavorable circumstances that may be as results of your own actions. Even so, do not let this stop you.

Finding purpose in life is taking risks, as you take the plunge to find it. Go wherever you want to go, do whatever you want to do, just as long as you keep the integrity and you are not stepping anyone's toes. Journey through life as if there is no tomorrow. Enjoy it. Cherish every moment. Do not be afraid to wander out and explore, for only then, you will come across what you have been looking for. You will eventually develop a sense of well-being. You will be happy and contented and by then, you can say that you have live life to the fullest for you have found your purpose.

been through a lot in life lately. so heartbreaking the situations are but i know in whatever situation, acceptance is all that matters. true, there are instances that i find them really hard to accept. took me a while to realize that no matter how i work hard and try my best for the things i wanted to happen, achieve and to be of success there are indeed persons and things that are not meant for me and beyond of my control. some may say it is fate...but for me, i believe its more than that, it must be providence because these things happen out of my control for certain purposes. Purposes that God only knows, and i know i can only see the purpose if i surrender myself to His will.

I don't get it. Is your life mission always to come from God when we are supposed to choose for ourselves the life we want to have?

Of course, we need to be self-sufficent to pursue our dreams and purpose in life - where a married life or single or in service to God or the Community. I was expecting this article to give some tips on how to identify one's purpose in life.

I totally agree that happiness equates to doing our true purpose in life..that is to be of service to others in case one is not sure why we are here in the first place. More power to your writing!

Its is simple. Do what you want to be happy but be self-sufficient first. Most coveted things in life like high paying jobs, beautiful and hot ladies, sports cars and many more are worth the calculated risk.
God is in the background to help us work and strive to meet our dreams.

Life is all about risking I think. We shouldn't put off achieving our dreams and knowing our purpose even if we have experienced failure in life. Many well known people who had failed but kept going on and did their best until they succeeded can serve as great example to everyone. And of course we should keep on praying and ask for God's guidance in what ever we do. I do believe, prayers are never left unanswered.

For me we could only find our purpose in this world if we surrender everything to Him who gave us life and letting us live by our own will and not His.

Talking about our purpose is hard to tell. Is this purpose is only for ourselves or a purpose for others. That is why in some point in my life makes me question myself, do we really have a purpose? Or is living to live is only our sole purpose?

I totally agree with this article. I was once faced with that feeling of finding the purpose I was to full fill.

I just kept seeking Jesus and asking for wisdom to guide me to that purpose I needed to persu and help me set goals along with my talents to accomplish and fallow my dreams. I really like the article and it is very well written!

God Bless,
Sherri Lynn

Happiness in life comes always from within and those who seek pleasure as if it is available in the market are bound to feel sad.

I think you brought up a good point that in order to find your true purpose in life, you first have to know who you really are. Getting to know yourself on a deeper level may be the biggest risk a person can take.

"Successful men and women seem to be driven by commitments bigger than what they actually are."
I completely agree with this!

I think that if we look at the workings of nature, we see a constant cycle of resources and energy, and that each creature, plant, molecule, etc. has the purpose of continuously attaining and passing on such resources without waste. Thus, everything is in submission to God. I think that we have a similar purpose which is embodied through service of both ourselves and others; in order to serve others, one must serve himself before "breaking the bow".

To serve ourselves, we must learn what is most adaptive for our physical, spiritual, and psychological growth and such growth can require constant exploration and taking chances as you mentioned in the article.

Each of us has so much of potential and it is really unfortunate how you see many people do not realize this natural disposition and flush themselves down and bring others down with them.

"Go wherever you want to go, do whatever you want to do, just as long as you keep the integrity and you are not stepping anyone's toes". Good point you made there. Having goals is important, but how you want to achieve them also matters. I've met people that seem to have a very clear view of what they want in life but they fail, simply because they don't use the proper method to attain their goals. I always believe that integrity is the key.
