Drought is a natural disaster that has been plaguing many places worldwide for a long time running now. Solutions have to be implemented fast. For quite a number of years now, there have been so many areas all over the world that have been experiencing episodes of drought. When you hear this place and that place battling the onset and harmful effects of drought, you cannot help but think to yourself that this is not something new. But the problem does exist, and the threat it brings is very real, very serious.
In America alone, there are so many states suffering from bouts of drought. And in the nation that has been famously dubbed as the Land of Milk and Honey, this is quite a blow, as many people would expect. But over the years, you just cannot deny that America has indeed been suffering from a lot of problems caused by droughts.
Central America alone has been suffering the brunt of these droughts! Texas, in particular, is a common homestead for droughts. And this is not new in Texas at all because for the bulk of the past century, several studies have been conducted pertaining to the precipitation problems Texas is so famous for. But all of us are aware of that already, so let us move on to coming up with solutions to solve this pressing problem. This problem will not go out on its own. The people of Texas have to do something on their end, so as to come up with an efficient plan for the droughts that have been occurring all over Texas for so many years now. Water conservation is the key here, not just the mere construction of dams and such all over the state. Everyone in the community should partake in whatever ways that they can, to ensure that water is responsibly used and effectively conserved to fight off drought. The sense of responsibility to be employed here has to be personal. This should not be too hard to do, you know. Just think about the situation for a second: would you like your children and your grandchildren to be the ones to suffer in a world where water is so scarce that they would have to shell out hundreds of dollars just to have that guarantee of safe drinking water? This is not something we would want to experience ourselves, how much more our children and their children?
And if this problem is not huge enough, there are also more states experiencing the same problem! California, Nevada, Idaho, New Mexico, Arizona, and even Montana are suffering bouts of drought as well! These places belong to the Level III state, which means that the constituents are not allowed to water their lawns or wash their cars whenever they want to. Local neighborhood watch programs and water police officers are everywhere, on the brink of turning in people who would go over what is known as water allotment per household. Imagine to what extent the problem of drought can become for each of these states!
Worse, even the large island of Australia is suffering from droughts, too! Yes, Australia is indeed one of the large islands that do not really receive that much rainfall. But when it comes to certain areas of Australia suffering from water restrictions, then it would not take a genius to realize that the problem has become more pressing than ever. The people of Brisbane, Adelaide, Sydney, and Melbourne are also on the lookout when it comes to water usage.
World leaders should stop pestering each other on who’s to blame for this rising drought problem. Instead, they should pool their resources together and find that solution to face this problem. Even better, all citizens should take part in attempting to solve this problem as well. Change begins within our own selves, and if this situation does not warrant changes, then no situation can ever warrant such. So, let us stop finding nations and world leaders to blame and start doing everything we can to fight off this problem! But then again, working hand in hand is just the first step. The problem here also involves a race against time, which we just might lose if all of us do not act right now.
